I'm rather proud of this rant.

Out of all of the Right Wing political movements, the anti-immigration movement, or "border watch" movement provokes some of the most visceral disgust in me.  They're about on par with how I feel about the worst of the core of anti-Islam movement on blogs like Litte Green Footballs.

For the most part, they're vicious racists, and are strongly aligned with the white supremacy movement.  I feel about them the same way the Blues Brothers felt about the Illinois Nazis.

It should not be surprising that right wing pundits grab hold of bullshit spewed by the race warriors of the right, and pimp it is if it were true.  No fact checking needed.

Well, it made the rounds on the legal site The Volokh Conspiracy, which provides an impressive sounding place for Right Wingers to pretend that they're libertarians, and generally rant about how they hate teh libruls, teh gayz, teh blakz, teh brownz, and anyone else.

But, see, this was posted by Dale Carpenter, who for some reason seems to think that immersing himself in a stew of people who think he's a child molester because he's gay is a good thing.  He actually pointed out  that Lou Dobs was a lying sack, who when confronted with his lie, just denied that it was a lie, and refused to elaborate.

It's sort of hard to deny this sort of "look, you're wrong and here's conclusive proof" thing, but some right wing anti immigrant types decided that Dobbs' major sin was getting caught.  So they posted more nonsense about the Evil Invading Brown Hordes.

Here's the capstone of the nonsense TB is dramatically on the rise in this country and the cause is directly related to the number of illegals coming here. When the numbers go up, so does the percentage of drug-resistant forms of the disease. Anyone who's lived in Southeast Asia knows about dengue.  It's a killer.  It's not as well known as malaria, but it's a real hazard.  But no one in any country where it's prevalent ever suggested that immigration was the cause.  Why?  I'm sure my friend  Mario knows.  Rose knew, and she didn't grow up there.  But she's a medical journalist.  Not everyone might know

Dengue is SPREAD BY MOSQUITOS.  Not people.

For a moment, I figured this was the ranting of some random nut.  But then, I wondered, why dengue, and where was this information coming from.  So I googled for dengue and immigration.  Surprise surprise, World Net Daily came up.  Big huge right wing Christian Dominionist end-times nutcase web site.  They cited an article by a group called the "Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons" which is run by Association of American Physicians and Surgeons

Take a good look at the wikipedia link.  These are the people from whom Lou Dobbs is getting his information.

Articles published in the journal have argued that the Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are unconstitutional, that "humanists" have conspired to replace the "creation religion of Jehovah" with evolution, that HIV does not cause AIDS, and that the "gay male lifestyle" shortens life expectancy by 20 years. A series of articles by pro-life authors also claimed a link between abortion and breast cancer; such a link has been rejected by the National Cancer Institute.
